Dear Triton Families,

Memorial Day: School will be closed on Monday, May 30th in observance of the men and women we have lost while serving our country. Thank you to all of you that serve our great nation.

CMS Assistant Principal: I’m pleased to announce that Ms. Brooke Binns has been selected as the new CMS Assistant Principal effective July 1, 2016. Ms. Binns has been teaching music at CMS and CHS for 10 years.  She has also served as the CMS ASB Adviser for the past four years and was the CMS interim assistant principal in January and February of 2016.  Ms. Binns is a graduate of Point Loma High School, and she earned her a B.S. in Music from San Diego State University and her M.A. in Educational Leadership from National University.   


Joy Clakley: Our wonderful registrar/administrative assistant, Joy, will be leaving us at the end of the week.  She and her family will be relocating to the east coast.  We are happy to announce that Mrs. Kimberley Junk will now hold the position. She will be a terrific addition to our CMS community.  


CMS Policies: In order to quell concerns regarding the dance move “dabbing,” CMS does not have a policy stating that students who “dab” will be subject to having their personal items searched.  Searches are only performed by CMS Administration, principal, assistant principal, or principal designee, only when there is a serious safety concern that could impact students and staff.  Additionally, new policies will always be clearly communicated to students and parents.

Band and Choir Concert: The spring concert is Thursday at 6:00pm in Granzer Hall.


BBQ Lunch: We will have a BBQ during lunch this week.  The cost is $3.50 which includes milk and a fruit and salad.  If you need to pay an account balance, please click on the link. CUSD Lunch Services

Homework Club: The last day of Homework Club is Tuesday, May 31st.


Library: All books must be returned to the library by Friday, May 27th.  Please be sure to pay any fines for lost or damaged books. 


ATTENTION 6th and 7th Grade Parents:

8th Grade Promotion Dance Chaperones Needed: The planning for the 8th grade promotion is well underway, and we need chaperones for the promotion dance on June 8th from 6-9pm in the CMS quad. In the name of tradition, 8th grade parents may not attend the dance, therefore chaperone spots are available to 6th and 7th grade parents only. If you are an 8th grade parent, we may have some donation needs, as well as volunteer opportunities specific for 8th grade parents. Please contact Heather White: or Condra Mullins:  .
