Lockdown Drill: Friday, March 9 at 1:00pm: CMS continues to be committed to holding monthly safety drills, and we will have our second lockdown drill of the year this Friday. Students will be informed via KCMS broadcast on Friday morning, and teachers will review the procedures and information that students have been trained to put into action if needed. Law enforcement will be present to support us and provide feedback. I will be contacting you via email following the drill.  We encourage you to reach out to us should you have questions or concerns.

 

CLUB/ISF SPORTS TEAM PICTURES and 8th GRADE CLASS PHOTO Wednesday, March 7:  

Students are asked to wear a white shirt and long dark pants or jeans. BRING sports jerseys to wear for team photos and any club shirts needed for the group photo (band, choir, APA, KCMS, Yearbook and any

others that may have shirts). There will be no picture make-ups.  

 

8th GRADE: The photo will be taken 7th pd. (12:50pm at CHS).  Eighth grade students with Hybrid PE will need to go to the CHS gym.  Purchasing information to come.

 

Math Tutoring:  CMS is happy to add an additional day for tutoring.  All students are welcome, however each day will have a specific grade level focus.

Mondays: room 204 Ms. Grimes 8th grade focus

Tuesdays: room 205 Mrs. Sadikeen 6th grade focus

Thursdays: room 209 Mr. Schumeyer: 7th grade focus

 

CMS Performing Arts Presents Bye-Bye Birdie: Tickets are on sale now!  You can purchase them at https://cmspa.booktix.com.  Cost is $10 plus service fee.  Seating is General Admission.

6th Grade Parents: On Tuesday, March 13, your child will be taking part in a program called "Drug Store," which is put together by Coronado SAFE and held at the Coronado Middle School.

Drug Store is a dramatic, experiential program that takes students on a journey through the natural consequences of poor choices with regards to drugs and alcohol. This community-wide event involves more than 100 volunteers including parents, DEA agents, police officers, EMTs, lawyers, judges, therapists, ministers, and more! Join the Green Club: Join Amy Youngblood in the garden on Tuesdays from 3:15-4:00.  Whether you want to learn more about gardening, tend to the beautiful CMS garden, or just drop in!

 

Jazz Band:  CMS is excited to start an after-school jazz band after Spring Recess.  Rehearsal will be twice a week (days TBD) More information to come from Mr. Heinecke, VES,CMS and CHS Band teacher.
