April is Month of the Military Child: In celebration of our students, we will be holding several lunch time activities during the week of April 10-14.  We’re asking for parents/guardians, family members, and community members, to write a letter or note of appreciation to a military dependent, and drop it off in the CMS office by Tuesday, March 11 at 3:30pm.  Or, you can email your letter to our CMS Military Family Life Counselor at    We will be putting all of the letters out at lunch for the kids to enjoy.

Leadership/Application Electives: 6th and 7th grade students interested in leadership electives Completed applications are due to the office by 3:00pm on Wednesday, April 5.   Leadership offerings: ASB, KCMS, Advanced Performing Arts, Advanced Art, and Yearbook.  Applications can be downloaded from your student’s CMS Counseling Haiku page.

Saturday School: April 8, 2017

Earth Day Projects with Ms. Noonan

Time: 8am-12pm                      Location: Room 102

Part 1: Students will discuss Earth Day as well as make Earth Day projects.
Part 2: Study Hall: Students will bring work in order to complete make-up and/or current assignments.

2018 East Coast Trip information meeting for students and parents is April 11th at 5:30-6:30 in Granzer Hall


Message from ASB: Our final ASB dance of the year will be on April 21st! We are looking for 10 parent chaperones to help us out with this special event! The event would be from 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm in Granzer Hall. If you are interested in chaperoning, please email Kevin Paiz-Ramirez at by April 12th. Parents will be chosen by a lottery system. Thank you for your support!

Statewide Testing is coming up: Please mark your calendars with the following dates, and be mindful of scheduling appointments during testing hours of 8-10:30

Smarter Balanced Assessment:

8th grade: April 24- May 1, 2017

6th grade: May 5-9, 2017

7th grade: May11-17, 2017

8th grade Science: May 8-9, 2017


All-School (ages) Musical.  Thank you to CSF and the Vernetti Family for supporting this exciting arts opportunity for the youth of Coronado!  CoSA and CorArtsEd Foundation are excited to present “ Once Upon an Island, Jr.”  We welcome back Director, Ms. Bueno, who very successful directed the fall presentation of “The Wizard of the Oz”  Registration is open  until April 7th. Synergy Codes and 2017-2018 Registration: The registration process for 17-18 will require you to have an active Synergy ParentVUE login.  You will not be able to register your student without having an activated Synergy ParentVUE.

You should have received an email if your account has not been activated.  Please stop by the front office to pick up your Synergy parent account activation.  You will be asked to present a picture ID since Synergy houses personal and confidential information.  If you cannot stop by, please call Kimberley Junk at 619.522.8921 x 3096. 

NOTE: If you are in a two parent/guardian household, both of you have your own Synergy ParentVUE accounts.  Only one parent/guardian account is needed to login to register a student for school online.  You will, however, continue to receive reminder email messages to the email of the Synergy ParentVUE account that has not been activated due to the inactivated status in the system.
