On Friday, we learned the devastating news that CHS alumnus, inspiring community member and parent, and CMS and CHS Surf Team Coach Stan Searfus passed away while surfing this morning. Stan was an incredibly influential mentor to many in Coronado and beyond, and our thoughts and condolences are with his family. Students in need have access to our counselors and resources, and CMS and CHS Surf teammates are actively supporting one another. We are grateful for Coach Searfus’ enduring investment in the lives of Coronado youth. Thank you to Coronado SAFE for providing this link with resources for helping teens with grief: http://www.nctsn.org/sites/default/files/assets/pdfs/helping_teens_with_traumatic_grief_caregivers_final.pdf
