For 8th grade parents: Message from CHS Principal, Jenny Moore: Believe it or not, 8th graders will be selecting their proposed courses for school year 2018-19 in less than a month.  Counselors will hold classroom presentations in CMS 8th grade science classes on February 27th , and registration appointments with students will be from March 2-9.  Be aware that in order to maximize student achievement and minimize course and schedule changes, administrators, teachers, and counselors will be using data, performance, and evidence of effort and motivation to recommend students for honors and AP courses with prerequisites.  We invite you to open dialogue with your child about planning a course schedule aligned with areas of career interest, passion, and motivation, while considering the importance of balancing challenges in the course load so that healthy life balance and time to pursue extracurricular and family and community activities are possible.  If you have questions about your child’s preparation for specific honors and AP courses, please contact your child’s current content teacher and/or counselor.   In general, we DO NOT RECOMMEND enrolling in summer online courses to accelerate or skip to a next level course at CHS in the fall.  Click on the link below for more information about 9th grade courses.  http://chs.coronadousd.net/9th gradecourseguide

The 15-minute registration appointments are from March 2-9. They are scheduled in alpha order by last name will be held on the CMS campus.  Karin Mellina and Mike Crooker will be contacting you with your specific date and time.
