Take A Veteran to School Day: November 10, 2016

Dear CMS Families,

Every year around the nationally recognized Veteran Day Holiday, Coronado Middle School students, faculty and guests, are treated to another once in a lifetime moment when CMS hosts, with our friends at Time Warner and the History Channel, Take A Veteran to School Day. This program was developed to link veterans with students nationwide. Schools and communities invite veterans of all backgrounds to share their stories and to receive appreciation for their service.

Take A Veteran to School Day is a special event for our school and community as we celebrate the brave men and women of our military who have served, or are currently serving, this great country of ours.  Students and guests are treated by our military heroes who share their experiences in the classrooms with a culminating activity of the Navy SEAL team parachuting onto Neidermeyer Field.  An incredible experience is always had by all.

A special thanks always goes out to our friends at Time Warner Cable and the History Channel, all of our wonderful parent and community volunteers, and the faculty, staff and students at CMS.  In particular, Mrs. Amy Steward for spearheading this fantastic learning experience. And last, but certainly not least, our incredible veterans who serve and protect the very freedoms our schools enjoy.
